Artist: Tool

Album: Lateralus

"Lateralus" by Tool is by far one of the best albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. The beat, lyrics and mood all mix together to form the greatest CD out of my humble collection. Lead singer Maynard James Keenan does a great job for this Tool album. The graphics for Lateralus' album cover are also terrific. Showing the upper body of a man with no skin, just muscles holding his right hand up as if giving his oath in a trial. He is also surrounding by eyes, while from a flaming eye at his center is releasing some type of twister of possible soul thriving energy. Once the cover is taken out it takes the front portion and does a cut away.

Now for the songs themself. To start off the album we have "The Grudge" this song really sets the tone for the CD, strongholding it to keep you listening through all 70mins+ of the CD. After this song you have a small instrumental which 'calms-you-down' for the next song which is "The Patient". A average song but nothing short of great. Another instrumental which leads up to the first Tool song I heard... "Schism". This song is still one of my favorite Tool songs out there, and will be for some time. After "Schism" is "Parabol" and "Parabola" Parabol is basically a slower version of Parabola, both many kudos for being cool. Now you have a fast "heavier" song, "Ticks and Leeches" this is also one of my favorite songs on Lateralus and will also keep you on the edge for the albums greatest track IMO. What song is it that is so far down the list that you are thinking it will suck, well it's "Lateralus". The track Lateralus is defininetely the best on the album, right tone, beat and mood just unbelievably perfect. Followed by Lateralus are three instrumental/short worded songs "Disposition" "Reflection" and "Triad" all three are great and are worth listening to. Finally to what I call a "filler" track. "Faaip de Oiad" (Voice of God) is a very... interesting song. Tool added music in behind a piece of a phone call into Art Bell's extraterrestrial show about a man who was on the run from the military and aliens after being discharged from Area 51, very nicely done quite frankly. Well there you have it one of the best CDs I've incountered brought to you on the internet.
