If the truth were to be told, I probably started making these plans in my head even BEFORE I bought the house... It was in such sad shape, it needed help desperately!
I actually sat down to put my thoughts "on paper" about two or two-and-a-half years ago. I say "on paper" because I actually did the designing with Bob Vila's Home Design software. This is a very easy CAD-type software that allows you to "build" your landscape, your house, your room, (whatever), and then "walk through it" in 3D. I highly recommend it if you like doing this sort of thing. Unfortunately, I seemed to thrive on it...I made so many different plans, I had to buy a larger hard drive to accommodate all my ideas!!! (A little bit of overkill, don't you think???)
The bottom line is: Here is "Plan No. Kazillion and One"...and this is the one we're going with!
