Ma & Pa Layout Photos
Glenarm Station
This view shows more or less the same location as the previous shot.  It was taken just prior to the expansion.
The station is scratch built using some birch paneling and other scraps I had around the garage.
Notice the more sweeping curve.  The "S" curve proved to be a headache, so I replaced it with a 20' radius curve in the front that looks and works better.
Coming out of the Hole

M&P #28 eases back onto the main line with her freight peddler after waiting for an excursion to pass.
The new detailing on the Bachmann 4-6-0 is terrific, and it runs smoothly, too.  The smoker is a little anemic, but otherwise, a great engine for the money.
The siding to the left serves the coal loader at Delta.
Expanded Layout

Here is an overview of the newly expanded layout.  I'm installing a patio in the center, and that big box is the kid's sand box.
Station names are Delta, at the coal loader in front, Fallston is the siding at right, Glenarm is the passenger depot at the top right, and Oakleigh is to the left of the tree, behind the Tiki Torch.      The torch is lit to let the mosquitos know that dinner is ready...
Waiting at Oakleigh for the train
After being an N scaler for so long, it was refreshing to build a timber platform out of actual timber, and use nails to hold it together!  The waiting shed started out as a bird feeder from Ben Franklin.  I cut the front rail out, added a plank floor, and put cedar shingles on the roof.  My "Arkansas Traveller" seems to appreciate the shade...
