The salinometer is used for to measure how much salty the water is.  After you add and dissolve the salt into your pickle, drop the meter into the solution and look at the water line.  There is a scale inside the meter and where ever the water line strikes the glass meter is your salt level.  This means the higher the meter floats the higher salt content.  The scale gets bigger the further down the meter.  This pump was designed and tested for improved sample on all guidline salinometers. Several pumps can be connected to increase tehj pumping pressure so that remote samples can be taken from in suti large volumes of water and laboratory tanks.
