In times of quiet stillness, My heart begins to sink. Alone to dwell in wond'rings, I've naught to do, save think.
The sadness in the background Has come to fullest light, As are my fears and failures Unshielded from my sight.
I long for a distraction To steal my thoughts away; Alas! I must take with the sweet The bitter in each day.
