Back to the Grove

The one I love is strong
     A mighty oak
     with roots firmly planted
     in defiance of Nature's fury

The one I love is tender and soft
     A blanket
     A comfort in times of trouble
     Lifelong companion

The one I love is handsome
     A work of art
     One of a kind
     Masterpiece of the Creator

The one I love is intelligent
     His mind is a bottomless ocean
     Calm on the surface, tumultuous underneath
     But deep ...with hidden, unknown secrets

The one I love loves me
     A place of shelter
     Open arms
     Rest for a weary soul

The one I love is a shadow
     Appearing as a mist
     Vanishing just as quickly
     A star just out of reach
