YOU CAN HELP US SAVE LIVES!
* Demand Changes!
*
Contact the Mayor, City Council and others in charge of BARC and demand changes necessary to stop the killing. It can be done, but the shelters must be willing to adhere to the No Kill model of sheltering, and our city officials must support these efforts.

* Help Us Spread the Word!
We want to make all 2.2 million Houstonians aware that it IS possible to save all healthy and treatable pets entering Houston's shelters.  Please
donate so that we can continue spreading the word to all Houstonians!

* Become a foster parent.
Fostering a cat, dog or litter of kittens/puppies will truly save their lives.  Most of the time, they just need a few days or weeks of care until they can go to an adoption event. The love you receive is so rewarding!

* Volunteer at one of the shelters or an offsite adoption event.
There are many volunteer opportunities to fit any task that you may be interested in.

* Volunteer for a No Kill Rescue Organization
* If you don't want to volunteer at a kill shelter, there are many
No Kill Rescue Organizations that pull animals from kill shelters that are always in need of volunteers and foster parents.

*Be a voice for change in Houston
* Contact the leaders at other kill shelters in Houston and ask that they invite Nathan Winograd to assess their shelter operations so that they too can reduce their high kill rates.  If they are killing healthy and treatble pets, they could be doing more to stop the killing.

* Become educated on how to stop the killing
Visit the
No Kill Advocacy Center website and become educated and informed on how you can help stop the killing.  It IS possible.  Other shelters are doing it and so can Houston's shelters.
