Stand-Up Guy

Nolan North must love being laughed at. The hilarious actor -- who once won a comedy contest and got to open for George Carlin -- made his return to the stand-up circuit on December 1 when he joined a lineup of comics performing at Hollywood's Laugh Factory. "After being away from the comedy stage for a year and a half, it really felt great!" says North, explaining that the event was a charity benefit for two AIDS organizations, Until There's A Cure and AIDS Project Los Angeles, and that the Laugh Factory "was the biggest venue I'd ever played." It was a good thing that North didn't know until moments beforehand just how huge his audience would be. As it turns out, the even also was broadcast on the Until There's a Cure Web site: Until There's A Cure Needless to say, "I was nervous at first, but I hit my stride. I've been the class clown around the PC set, so it was easy to slip back into it."
