Stand-Up Guy

If Nolan North lacks a date on Saturday night, it's hardly because of any deficiency in the looks department. Actually, the fetching actor's just ambitious like his character! But while Chris busies himself by concocting deadly viruses in the GH lab, North focuses on his professional development. "I don't get a chance to date much because I don't go out -- I work," he admits. "When I'm not at PC, I'm taking classes, writing screenplays, and doing my stand-up comedy." Just last month, the part-time comic yukked it up at Bananas in Elmsford, N.Y. to benefit Soap Opera AIDS Response (S.O.A.R.). How does North keep his funny bone strong? "I work with an improv comedy troupe called Groundlings," he smiles. "They're the most respected in Los Angeles. People like the late Phil Hartman and Lisa Kudrow have been members. It's terrific."
