Married . . . . With Chilren (by Kelli M. Larson)
No sooner did Chris Ramsey get hitched to a secret mom than his portrayer, Nolan North, and his real-life bride welcomed a new addition to their family.

Three years ago, part-time comedian Nolan North thought life couldn't get any better. But that was before PORT CHARLES cast him as its resident M.D. (Mischievous Devil) Chris Ramsey and he met actress and fellow golf nut Jill Murray. "I had always wanted a family, but I didn't think I'd find the right person," he explains. "Now, to have someone who can put up with my antics -- and [even] revel in it and encourage it . . ."

He pauses. "She just instills a lot of confidence in me, and that's something you can't get from other people."

Married last year, the two are now the proud parents of 2-month-old Cooper. And despite his lack of sleep, Dad is loving being a parent. "It's a lot more work than I had expected," he admits, "but I'm having the time of my life."

"When I'm feeding that baby at 6 a.m. and it's just me and him and I look over at my beautiful wife sleeping soundly, I honestly realize that life is just perfect."

Ironically, North's new home life is one of the first things he's had in common with his PC character. "The timing is very interesting," he muses. "Here Chris is the guy who posted pictures of Ellen and Matt sleeping together, and now he's got a wife who he truly loves!"

Whether the Ramseys will be as happy as the Norths remains to be seen, but the actor believes they are starting from a good place. "The fact that Julie didn't tell anyone that she was Devlin's daughter prompted Chris to think, 'Wow, she's trying to do it on her own,' so he's always respected her."

And while Eve may have held the key to Chris' heart, it was Julie -- during her incarceration -- who turned the lock. "Seeing somebody else needing him to be selfless," North suggests, "is what prompted Chris to find his heart."

Now the town pariahs are joined at the hip and ready for anything. "Chris is a fine doctor, but he may feel he has less to prove now because he has somebody [to whom] it doesn't matter what he is, as long as he's happy," North says, adding that he knows the feeling. "Since I got married and had the baby, all my priorities lined up. It's like there's nothing I can't do."
