 In 1947 having borrowed £50 from his Aunt and Uncle, Norman Ferns bought an Austin van and set up his own small transportation company. He originally worked for the local textile mills in his hometown of Leek, Staffordshire, transporting the materials and goods. The van shown below didn't originally have a removal body on it, but after receiving requests from the local mill workers, to 'fit' them in for house removals after work. He soon realised this line of work was a better proposition and more rewarding. So he had the body built and the company began ...

Now, after more than 60 years in the business, the company has a large storage facility available and runs various sized vehicles to enable us to cater for any type of removal job. As our size has grown, so to, has our experience and we are very proud of the reputation we have built up and strive to excel in our line of work. We realise that our customers are our best 'adverts' and word of mouth is the best recommendation anyone can get. So we treat every job, no matter the size, as our 'most important'.
