a new page dedicated to all things relating to an amazing band...

sr71, formerly known as honor among thieves and radiostar, is the best band to come off the east coast in a long long time. they offer solace to the populations of music fans who can't find peace with the bubblegum pop of n'sync or the harder rock of limp bizkit...take a minute to check 'em out, why dontcha?

News!!
17/03/02: news! how amazing! i actually have something worthwhile to reportvisit the official site if you haven't done so lately, because they've got a bit of a temporary new loook. also, i got this email (see below) from the street team and thought you'd all appreciate knowing that the boys are still alive and well! hope you find this as exciting as i did!

"Hey Everybody,
Well I guess you are all wondering what the hell we've been up to!
First off let me apologize for not writing this letter sooner and
putting it on our old website. I was waiting for this new page so I
could share all the new things that we've gotten into, but it has
been awhile...a long while...so I'm sorry. But I'm here now so
everything is going to be just fine...(heavy sarcasm).

Well, I first want to thank everybody for helping us out on NOW YOU
SEE INSIDE and let you all know we are going to need plenty of help
on the next CD. The street team means the world to us and we need
each and every one of you so hang in there. So much has happened
that I feel I need to give you an update and some history.

First off, NOW YOU SEE INSIDE went gold, thanks in part to the street
team so hard work. We went on a world tour that ended with playing
arenas with Bon Jovi in front of 20,000 people a night! Then, of
course there was the departure of original drummer, Dan Garvin last
summer, and the addition of John Allen. After that, we also split
from our management company, Deep South, when the Bon Jovi tour ended
I moved to L.A. and Mark had to check himself into a rehab....well
the last part is bullshit but the rest really happened. It has been
one hell of a year!

We are currently writing songs for the next CD. This process has
been the last 3 months of our lives. I can't tell you how exiting it
is to be playing new music! This CD will be quite different from the
last. It has been 2 years since we recorded Now You See Inside...2
years of change and maturing. We hope you will love this CD even
more than the last. It will hopefully be out by the end of the
summer.

Music is everything to us and sometimes the politics of the business
can hold up the creative process. Thanks for sticking with us and
being patient. We can't wait to get back and road and see all of you
and start playing again. Let's make this one Platinum!!!

- M I T C H"

drop me an email if you've got time! thanks! rock on!

16/02/02: hi everyone. i really apologize about the immense lack of updates, but the truth is...if i knew anything, i would have put it up here. i have heard hardly anything from the guys or anyone associated with the guys in a really long time. the sr-71.net mail service is apparently down, unfortunately, so if you'd like to send me a note, better send it here instead. and i heard that sr has ended their affiliation with deep south entertainment. that's all i can tell you, because that's all i know. if i hear any news any time soon, i promise to let you know as soon as i can. thanks so much for sticking with the boys, and don't lose hope yet...keep the sr love going strong!
~jocelyn*

26/12/01: hey all...happy holidays! sorry it's been so long. the show scheduled for saturday night at the 930 was cancelled, so im pretty bummed about that. "christmas is the time to say i love you" has been getting some pretty decent radio play, i heard it on 98 rock the other day. no other real news these days...but keep hope alive, i'm sure the boys will be back and rockin the scene in no time flat...talk to you soon! dont forget to stay in touch!
~jocelyn*

02/12/01: hey everyone! so, was anyone else at the hfsmas nutcracker last night? right before the puddle of mudd set, guess who came out as a special guest to wish us all a merry christmas? that's right, everyone's favorite frontman, mitch allan! so mitch is indeed alive and well on the east coast. i scouted around for him awhile afterwards, but i couldnt find him. although the official sr-71 website has a footnote about the sr show at the 930 on the 29th being postponed, i asked a rep from the 930 club if they had heard anything about that and they said that, to the best of their knowledge, the show was still on. i'll update you on that as i find out news. everyone have a great holiday season, and i'll (*hopefully*) see you at 930 on the 29th!
~jocelyn*

03/11/01: hey guys, i found out that uxb is the opening act (or at least one of the opening acts) for sr-71's holiday bash at the 930 on the 29th of dec. so look forward to that! also, i finally got the bugs out of the "tour partners" part of the page, so either use the menu at the bottom of the page, or just click here to check that out. alright, im going to work on changing the links section a little bit, but no real news other than that. later!
~jocelyn*

01/11/01: alrite, tickets are on sale for sr's december 29th show at the 9:30 club. go to the ticketmaster website to purchase tix (15 bucks a pop) to this show, i'm sure it's gonna be awesome! in other news, sr-71's got another new song on a compilation, this time it's on "a very special christmas vol. 5" and the song is called "x-mas" and it's excellent! if you go to the cdnow website and search for the album, you might be able to hear a clip of it, but when i tried to do that, it was a little messed up. this christmas album, as well as the soundtrack to the movie "the new guy" (which features an sr-71 cover of the dazz band's song "let it whip") will be released on the 6th. no word lately about sr's album release or anything like that, but i'll let you know as soon as i find out! rock on!
~jocelyn*

20/10/01: what? an sr-71 show planned? amazing, yet true! pollstar has announced that sr-71 has a concert planned for december 29th at the 9:30 club! for those of you who are keeping track, that's exactly one year since they last played the 9:30. no news yet from ticketmaster, the official sr-71 website, or the 9:30 club website, but let's keep our fingers crossed! i'll add more news as i get it!
~jocelyn*

16/10/01: sorry for the lack of updates, but news has been...nonexistent. the official site has been updated slightly recently. the big news is that a paul mccartney tribute album came out a week ago and one of the tracks is a cover of "my brave face" done by our boys in sr71. you can go here to here a clip of the song. other than that, no real news lately. if anyone's heard anything recently, let me know. thanks, and keep the rock alive.
~jocelyn*

31/08/01: hey, we had a power outage last night as i was updating the pics page, but they're all up now. if you follow the link to the pictures page, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page, under the heading "sr71 out and about" and get to the page that features sr71 at coconuts. im in the middle of an overall makeover of the pictures page, im going to convert it all to thumbnails...the coconuts pictures section and the world tour pictures section are the only ones that are thumbnails so far. keep checkin back for more updates and pictures as they come in.
~jocelyn*

30/08/01: hey everyone! sorry it's been so long since last update. the coconuts show kinda got messed up because of some issues with the rain, so i had to leave early and didn't get any pictures. but if you go to the pictures section of the page, you can see pics from the coconuts website. by the way, if you're either a virginia street team member, or are interested in becoming a member of the sr-71 street team, mail me!. i haven't heard too much sr news lately. the movie "the new guy", whose soundtrack features an sr-71 cover of "let it whip" by the dazz band, is slated to come out november 16th, so the soundtrack should be out sometime around then. other than that, the band is reportedly doing well and doing a lot of good work on the new album. i think that's all i've got for you for now...i really need to get a scanner or something hooked up so i can scan all my old pics in for you guys...soon, i promise! enjoy the end of your summer! keep the rock alive!
~jocelyn*

15/08/01: hi guys! i was just listening to sr71's 80s medley bootleg from the november 2000 930 club show with the marvelous 3 and it reminded me how much i love the guys! john emailed me the other day and told me to look forward to a good show this sunday, so im excited. mail me and let me know if you're gonna be there, it's gonna be a party! i'll take beaucoup pics and stuff for you guys. i know i havent scanned the fletcher's or hfstival pics for you yet, so i'll probably just wait and do one big job with fletcher's and hfstival and coconut's pictures. so, yeah, look forward to that. :) alright, guys, that's all for now. hopefully i'll see some of you on sunday! and, hey, don't forget to sign the guestbook! rock on!
~jocelyn*

~jocelyn*

21/07/01: alright, so i've been a bit reclusive ever since the news of m3 breaking up...*picture me holed up in my room eating cartons of ice cream listening to "pizza and wine" on repeat*. but i've emerged to post a couple pictures of sr71 from the hfs website and the hfstival unofficial website. they're on the pictures page, the link that says new pics from hfstival 2001 or something to that effect. it's only a few pics from sr playing the main stage on sunday. hope that'll hold you over till i get mine scanned, then there will be plenty more from hfstival monday. you can also download the good charlotte video for "festival song" which was filmed at hfstival sunday and monday at the hfs website. that's all for now. have a good weekend.
