Our Band Staff is what builds us up to become a better musician to entertain you. They are there to help us march better, guide us, mold us, and shape us to perform for you, our audience. Moving on to the role of our: Band Director: The Commander-in Chief, as he/she should be called, is the owner of the band. He/She keeps everyone in check, and he/she works closely with each individual to better the sound of the band. Our Band Director is Mr. Keith Howe. Percussion Instructor: The Percussion Instructor is the person who works with the Percussion/Pit Ensemble to help them become better performers. They work behind the scenes to help bring a better sound to the band. Our Percussion/Pit Instructors are Donald Bennett and Rodney Ward. Color Guard Instructor: The Color Guard Instructor is in charge of the students who have made the "squad." He/She helps them learn the basics of twirling a flag, a rifle, and other items of that nature. They bring color for visual effects to the field, or to the parade in which most are found at the front after the school banner, or in the rear of the band. Our Color Guard Instructor is Evie Carawan. Visual & Assistant Coordinators: They work together to support or reject each other's ideas. They help to put the show together to be viewed by the public. They are the people who work closely with the band to ensure that everyone is in step and that all horn angles are up to the same level. They help to create horn pops, slides, crab steps, and other interesting ways of marching to make the show better. Our Visual and Assistant Coordinators are Chris Patterson and Andrew Howe. The following is dedicated to our "Backbone of the Band": We have enjoyed having each and every one of you. You help us throughout the year, you express your concerns, and you always make sure our needs are taken care of. No matter what the situation may be, you are always there. We thank you for all you do, and for all you have done. We would be lost without you. You are our band parents, personal support staff, and our chaperones. List will soon be added, but I have not forgotten about you. |
