The Plaza Arts Center is a historic building on the Carrollton town square. It was built in 1949 as a movie theater and operated as such for over 40 years. After the theater closed, it was converted into an art gallery by filling the main floor with display cubicles. In 2006 a NTTDS member bought the building and renovated it into a multi-use arts center. The stage was extended, the floor was levelled, and a fabulous 1900 sq ft sprung wood floor (ideal for dancing of all types) was installed. Raised art galleries flank each side of the main floor, and more art and jewelry is sold in the lobby. The two balconies have tables and chairs, ideal for watching the action below.
