Background

Jasmine's parents died in a plane crash when she was still a baby and she was adopted by her mother's sister and her husband, a well-off family, they wanted children but couldn't have any of their own.

From a young age Jasmine showed great athletic ability and channelled this talent into Martial Arts, but was never really able to settle with one style for very long, so she has a bit of a mish-mash knowledge of Aikido, Judo and karate, plus others.

Her journalistic interests also started at an early age working on the school paper and all, however it never really worked out either eventually she got kicked off the editing team and all her previous work totally trashed. But she persisted and went to college, everything went well and in her second year she finally convinced the editorial team to let her do some work for them, this was her early free-lancing.

Everything went really well from there and she finished her degree with honours and went to work for the New York Times. Two years later though a scandal blew up at the college she had attended and she was sent to cover the story only to find that she was at the centre of the scandal and as a result she lost her job and her hard earned credentials. She was unable to prove that she had nothing to do with it.

For the next two years she roamed North America doing free-lance, mostly for two-bit rags, you know ufo?s, aliens, my mother gave birth to a dog, vampires, werewolves etc. She was following a "vampire" lead late one night only to discover that they really do exist. She was looking into a story about an orphanage with an unusually high mortality rate only to discover the "night-warden" was a vampire, she barely escaped with her life, "dusting" him purely by fluke really. She wrote a huge expose of it and the existence of Vampire's but of course no-one believed her and all her proof vanished.

She spent the next few years trying to prove her story, find more evidence but it always eluded her. Unknown to her though she was being watched and one night received a phone call, He told her to meet him in London and he'd answer all her questions about vampires and give her the proof she needed, by this time she had hit rock bottom, she'd become your  typical drunken, dishevelled reporter type, desperate for any story for the break back into the big time so ignoring caution she took off for London. She got her proof alright, he embraced her, he taught her of the Gangrel and the Camarilla but not much else. 10 years passed before he finally released her and she wandered around England for the most part, she learnt a little of the other clans, mostly rumour and hearsay and also of the existence of other supernaturals, but nothing concrete really. She hooked up with a Child of Gaia Garou (Thomas) for a little while, they became good friends until they became enmeshed in a Tremere Land Grab plot, they blew the story saving the villagers but it cost her dearly, Thomas was killed, and she was held prisoner by the Tremere, she can't remember for how long, they tortured her with their magicks and she knows they have some of her vitae, she doesn't know why or what they plan to do with it, or even if they care anymore, it was so long ago. All she clearly remembers is watching them kill her friend and the pain, and finally waking up in the back of her Combie back in the States near Necropolis.

She re-acquainted herself with her family, spinning a story of going on some kind of sabbatical to clean herself up, they were happy to see her regardless of her strange nocturnal habits. They supported her financially for the next few years while she became familiar with Necropolis and the Independent Gangrel in Swope, she settled down and became very comfortable there becoming heavily involved in the Ceol Mor Coterie and it's protection of Flemming park as well as Swope, even becoming leader of the Coterie for a little while, and becoming romantically involved with Jared Dragon, but then her curse came back to haunt her, she discovered that her run of bad luck was indeed a curse placed upon her by the Tremere, even before her embrace and as such had to return to England, especially after some Garou attacked her in Flemming. So without a word she just up and left 18 months ago.

She found and "dealt" with the Tremere who had tortured her for so long and also realised she would have to deal with her mortal ties. So she spent some time with her family and friends before masquerading her "death" in an auto accident, she found it very hard to deal with having to do that to her family, watching them at her funeral was too much and she fled and went "Wild" for a few months, almost starving herself into torpor before finally coming to her senses and returning to the only family she has left, those in Swope Park. She still has contact with her Mother and ex-boyfriend as a "friend of Jasmine"

The curse haunts her still, she has yet to find the one who placed it upon her, but for now she is content with her new life and her new love Jester Shadow-Walker.
