PRESS RELEASE

LEGENDS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FUN RUN/WALK

All 500 entrants who accepted the challenge achieved their mission to complete the fourth annual Legends Sports Caf Mission Impossible 5km Fun Run/Walk within 75 minutes on Sunday 4 November at Mission Estate Greenmeadows.

A small course change proved to be an improvement and coupled with dry weather the event was highly successful.

The age range of contestants was a major feature of the event with children of 3 years through to 85 year old veterans managing the 5km course mix of road, cross country and hill work. Families and work groups were also obvious happily merging with seasoned runners and walkers.

Marilyn Harkness of Napier took home the major spot prize of an airfare & weekend accommodation to a New Zealand city for her efforts.

Craig Mathers from Napier Harriers was the first runner to cross the line recording 18.56 with John Hambleton second in 19.00. John Holshier, Napier Marathon Clinic, was the first home from the walk section.

Good runs came from juniors Stefan Smith, Kane Green , Hayley Sherbourne and brothers Eric and Brendan Speakman.
