LUND, HERMANN MAIRE (sic)

Teacher of Music, Piano and Singing, 155 Montreal Street.  Mr. Lund was born in 1848 (sic) and educated in Stuttgart.  He studied music under Speidel and Stark, and subsequently under Carl Tausig in Berlin.  Mr. Lund practiced his profession as a teacher for some years in North Germany, and was engaged also for several concert tours in various parts of Europe.  In 1878 (sic) he arrived in Auckland by the ship �Lombardian,� and soon afterwards settled in Christchurch, where he has since been active as a teacher.  Mr. Lund has given many successful concerts and recitals in New Zealand.  He is the senior member of the Christchurch profession, and was promoter of the Society of Professional Musicians, of which he was first president for many years.
