For many of us it began with a movie, Peter Pan, Cindarella, 101 Dalmations or with the Mickey Mouse Club. For those under 20 it's probably something they saw on Sunday evening on ABC. It's a part of our fabric, like it or not, and, at some point, a place we visit, drawn by our memories or hopes or dreams. If you aren't immediately struck by the magic, look around and look at the faces of the children. They can still appreciate the wonderment that the Magic Kingdom represents. Adults are taken by the mall aspect of main street, which, I think, fades away as you move threw the theme areas. It is certainly not to be forgotten and, regardless of how jaded or blasè you may feel (teenagers excepted), it's unlikely you'll leave without being touched by something you see or experience at the park. Teenagers, by nature, are not allowed to acknowledge connecting with anything, so don't be surprised if there's not a show of overwheilming enthusiasm, but be sure they probably aren't telling all. |
