5. 20th Century Karate

Okinawa comes to terms with Japanese control. Karate Kobodu masters in the Peichin society formulated linear karate concepts in the mid-1800s. This knowledge transitions to later generations. Over time, this next generation of karate masters openly teach karate in schools. Karate is found to have possitive effects on fitness level of young men processing in for military service. Before acceptance by the government, Okinawan karate was taught only in privacy away from the knowledge of the Japanese government.
