History

OISCA - Manipur was established in 1989 in Manipur, India. It is also recognized by OISCA - International  (Headquarters) Tokyo, Japan. It is operating in the whole area of Manipur, where all the district branches of OISCA Manipur co-ordinate to take up projects and programs of OISCA - Manipur.

In 1993 OISCA-International became the first organization to receive the United Nations "Earth Summit Award Toward Global Sustainability" (Earth Summit).

In April, 2001, OISCA-International was selected by NGO Section of United Nations to become the first coordinator of "NGO Regional Network for Asia and the Pacific".

It has consultative relationship with World Bank, Washington DC, USA and Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines.

So far, its regional, national and local chapters are spread over more than in fifteen countries.
