GENTS TO BE OPENING MATCH FOR THE KC BLUES vs. DETROIT TRADESMEN - Friday March 20th at Wyandotte Co. Park the gents will play a combine side of Parkhill, Liberty and Schlagal starting at 5:00. It will be the Gents second game due to the cancellation of Blue Valley this past weekend. NEW BODIES STILL SHOWING UP - Its been a great trend every practice a new player shows up. Now some of them stay and some of them go but the main thing is the Gents numbers are growing. We got our first Freshmen to come out this past thur. he liked it so much he has already paid his dues. Welcome to the Club Taylor Brashear. Keep up the recruiting boys before you know it we will reach the goal of having two sides. 17 BOYS GET THEIR FIRST GAME EXPERIENCE - The Gents took on Mounds View, Minn. for their opening game of the season. 18 boys showed up to play and only one had any game experience. Mounds View experience helped them win the game, but they walked off the Pitch with great respect for the Newbies of the Gents. The boys played hard and showed they weren't afraid of contact. With not much contact in Practice over the past four weeks Coach Clark was pleasantly surprised to see how well the boys tackled. There were several times they got cought out of position but made up for it with one man one tackle and allow everyone to get back into position. Several lessons were learned and the Gents are on their way. Rodney Harris(O. East) ended the game with a nice 50 meter Try. This put a smile on everyones face and made them want more. Player of the Game Goes to Garrett Powell (O. North) the one Gent with experience brought his A game and led by example all game long. |
