I first came across the name Clannad a number of years ago when I was watching a documentary on the BBC when I lived in the UK. The program was called " Children of the Crossfire" and was about the kids in Northern Ireland.. The Haunting images of the program with the sounds stayed in my mind, until I once again saw the beginning of a U2 video, " Under a Blood Red Sky" filmed at Red Rocks... Once again the image from the earliesr program was there behind the screen as the band was setting up, The Tune was "theme from Harrys Game".
By this time I was living back in Australia. Imported music was hard to come by and expensive but I managed to get cassette copies of all the albums they had released....I have since replaced the cassettes with CD's ( as the cassette's slowly wore out ) In the late Eighties a dream came true for me. Clannad toured Australia, and I got to see them play live in Melbourne where I was living at the time.....
