The ship Buffalo anchored off Glenelg, South Australia, in 1836, with the colonies first Governor.

A full size replica of the Buffalo was constructed as a museum / restaurant and placed in the Patawalonga Boat Haven at Glenelg, adjoining Wigley Reserve.

Trenching through the reserve for sewer / power / gas, unearthed a substantial 1870s to 1910 rubbish tip.

People were caught and fined under council by-laws for digging holes in the reserve.
