Great page! Thank you for connecting us with other enthusiasts of 67-72's.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE AN ORIGINAL TACH DASH THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO PART WITH
FOR GOOD MONEY??? HOW ABOUT A SET OF FACTORY BUCKETS, BLAZER OR PICKUP???
I am seventeen years old and have spent three years and over $12,000 restoring
my 71 Cheyenne 1/2 ton swb with air, ps, pb, and the full trim package
with the original blue/white/blue paint scheme. It is a daily driver and
a head turner. If anybody is interesting in trading tips or just BS'ing
e-mail me.

I am 17 years old, and an avid 67-72 pickup enthusiast. I bought my
truck 3 years ago for $3500 as an Arkansas original with no visible rust,
and few dents and dings. Since then I have with the help of my father completely
dissasembled the truck, cleane up the frame, rebuilt or replaced anything
mechanical, including adding a 4/3 drop from DJM suspension. Body work
started with a plastic media blast (less abrasive than sandblasting) of
every piece of sheetmetal, including the interior and completely di mantled
bed. It was then shot with the best of the best ethching primer. The stuff
is as hard as a rock! I left the work starting here to the pros. They spent
countless hours smoothing over the body and reassembling it, until I was
satsfied. The only metal replaced was the right inner/outer fender, cab
corners, rockers, tailgate, and a piece of bed floor. Once the body was
back together, it was shot with a 2-stage PPG paint and PPG's newest and
finest clear coat. I replaced all of the trim and chrome with GM replacement
parts that I purchased mostly from Chevy Duty, Inc. It turned out better
than I ever xpected. On the outside, it looks completely stock except for
a Carriage Works billet grille, and of course the lowered stance. On the
inside, I've treated it to a newer look with a '92 Silverado seat with
headrest/armrest and steering wheel. The thing that I am most proud of
is that I have managed to do this with most of my own money which I earned
during summers and on the side while I was busy being an honors student,
football player, wrestler, and shot/discus thrower. The truck is my p ide
and joy, and also a daily driver.

It is great to have good resources online, it makes it easier to find
things. Good web-site, needs more links, lots of other 67-72 stuff out
there. In our family beyond the Blazer, there is a 70 Chev Suburban Sentinel
ambulance, 71 C20 Cheyenne fleetside and a 72 GMC Suburban with dual A/C.
Looking forward to spring and taking the top off of the Blazer.

My Blazer currently has a blown engine. I'm think ing of dropping in
a Chevy Goodwrench 350. Given that I might be moving and might have to
sell the truck, I'm a bit hesitant to spend the money. The body and interior
are cherry - its a California truck and has been garage stored. My choice
is new engine or junk. I do want to get my money out of the truck if I
do drop the engine in. Any thoughts on whether it makes monetary sense
- i.e. what is the going price for a good/very good blazer with a new en
ine in it? Thanks,

I took my truck apart down to the frame three years ago during the

college a few months ago. Seeing your page just makes me want to leave

a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. This truck was brought by my dad in 1970, has
been to Alaska and back, and has a out 247,000 miles on it. It still runs
strong, though. My grandpa used to have a green '69. By the way, our truck
is yellow. Keep up the good work on this one-of-a-kind page.

today. 5.0 ltr. HO with new everything. New dual exhaust system on Thur.
AM. Had Bow Tie Performance build my engine. They did a wonderful job and
would recomend Oaul to any serious owner. This truck just screams and is
so very responsi e. I just love it to death. Purchased new in August 1967.
Truck and body have 135,000 miles, one re-paint, new interior and everything
else is new or rebuilt. A "true" puff in every sense of the word.

The 71 is a plain Jane, I did a frame off restoration 5 years ago
and replaced the original 350 with a 454. The 72 GMC was I think the Sierra
or Cheyenne, I'm rodding it by putting it on a 71 Grand Safari frame with
another 454 with a 3 deuce manifold, It should scrape the ground
