Lords (Army Generals, Ard Druids, and Firbolg Chieftans) are the highest ranking and most powerful characters in the Inisfail list.

Lords are severely limited in number (see "Armies of Inisfail") and are quite expensive, but make the best army Generals.

ARMY GENERAL

The army must include a general to lead it. This will be either the Ard Rhi, a Rhi, or a chieftan appointed to lead it.

Weapons: Hand weapon.

Options:

  • May choose either a great weapon (+6 pts) or an additional hand weapon (+4 pts).
  • May either choose a bow (+10 pts) or a Javelin (+6 pts).
  • May wear either light armour (+3 pts) or heavy armour (+6 pts), and may also carry a shield (+3 pts).
  • May ride either a warhorse (+15 pts), a Wyvern (+230 pts), a Pegasus (+50 pts), a Griffon (+200 pts), a Dragon (+320 pts), a Great Eagle (+50 pts), a Hippogriff (+200 pts), or may ride in a Chariot which has been included in the army as a Special Unit choice at the points cost shown there, displacing one of the Chariot's normal crew.
  • May choose magic items from the Common magic item lists, with a maximum total value of 100 pts.

Special Rules:

Ferocious Charge.

 

ARD DRUID

Points/model: 200


Druids are the only magic users in the lands of Inisfail.  They commune with the Inisfail gods and in turn learn how to use magic.  Druids study the magics of land and the beasts.

Weapons: None.  Druids may never carry weapons.

Magic: An Ard Druid is a Level 3 Wizard.  He may choose one of the following Lores: Life; Beasts.

Options:

  • May be upgraded to a Level 4 Wizard for +35 pts.
  • May ride either a warhorse (+15 pts), a Wyvern (+230 pts), a Pegasus (+50 pts), a Griffon (+200 pts), a Dragon (+320 pts), a Great Eagle (+50 pts), a Hippogriff (+200 pts), or may ride in a Chariot which has been included in the army as a Special Unit choice at the points cost shown there, displacing one of the Chariot's normal crew.
  • May choose magic items from the Common magic item lists, with a maximum total value of 100 pts.

Special Rules:

Divine Protections.

 

FIRBOLG CHIEFTAN

Firbolg are gigantic men who stand 7-8 ft. tall and are massively muscled. They are called Firbolg due to their ancient tradition of carrying a bag filled with relics of their ancestors, momentos and treasures that define their clans. They are mighty warriors and they are fiercely proud and loyal. Once they have given heir bond, it is never broken. They live in the upland meadows raising the fierce mountain cattle and hunting and trapping wild game. Their preferred weapon is a double-bitted axe or a massive spear.
