OBJECTS
1. To promote and project
the practice, customs, beliefs and knowledge of the Olympian Religion (Dodecatheon)
in Australia and the world.
2. To promote and project
the history, culture and religion of Ancient Hellas to the Australian Community.
3. To maintain and advance
the culture, religious and linguistic identity of persons of Hellenic descent
and others residing in Australia.
4. To promote and advance
the educational, cultural and religious interests of persons of Hellenic
descent and others residing in Australia.
CONSTITUTION
1. NAME:
The name of our Organisation
is «Ancient Hellenic Religion of the Olympian Gods» (hereafter called «Olympian
Religion» or «Dodecatheon»).
2. OBJECTIVES:
(a) To preserve, teach
and propagate the religious practice, customs, beliefs, traditions and
worship of the Hellenic Olympian Gods.
(b) To preserve and strengthen
in accordance with paragraph (a) of the clause and the high literary traditions
of Ancient Hellenic texts, the religious and moral life of our members
by:
(i) service and appropriate
teachings;
(ii) publishing books,
texts and papers;
(iii) operating schools,
classes and libraries;
(iv) the acceptance of
members into the Olympian Religion, according to the
teachings and traditions
of the Faith;
(v) the practice of charity
and assistance of all objects for the common good.
(c) To foster interest
in the history, literature, culture, language and religion of Ancient Hellas,
the Hellenes and the whole spectrum of Hellenism.
(d) To liaise with and
maintain close ties with all similar organisations in Australia and overseas.
(e) To sponsor or support
lectures, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, seminars and to print, publish
and disseminate academic writing, research and literary work on all aspects
of Ancient Hellas.
(f) To solicit funds,
subscriptions, donations, gifts and bequests from the public, companies,
associations and other bodies to further the objectives of the Olympian
Religion.
(g) To co-operate with
other organizations and associations with similar objectives.
(h) To promote the religious
and moral education of the members.
3. MEMBERSHIP:
Membership is open to
all persons in Australia who adhere to the Olympian Religion.
