Mu Chapter History
In the fall of 1981, colonization of the Mu Chapter of Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority began at Middle Tennessee State University.  The Epsilon chapter from Tennessee Technological University assisted in the expansion of the sorority to the MTSU campus.  Alicia Foster Allen, the National Liaison from the Epsilon chapter conducted interest meetings at MTSU.  The number of girls interested was sufficient to merit petitioning the National Organization in order to establish the MU Chapter.

Efforts were made in the fall of 1982 to revive the colony after the original numbers diminished in 1981.  Irene Alexander, the National Liaison from the Epsilon chapter at the time, and Patti Beers, a transfer student from Epsilon Chapter, organized ten interested girls, fulfilled the necessary requirements, and established the colony as MU chapter.  During the mid-year convention on January 29,1983, Mu chapter was installed at Quincy's Steakhouse on Lebanon Road in Nashville, Tennessee.  National Expansion Director at the time, Cindy Viktorin, presented the new Mu chapter with their charter.

In December 2003, after trying for several months to regroup as a chapter the actives of Mu Chapter decided to go alum.  Rho chapter and NEB helped recolonize the chapter and managed to find three girls who were interested in pledging. Jenny Nordhoff, Sam Pensyl, and Maria Hargis, pledged for 13 weeks, while working on a new constitution, and traditions for the newly activated Mu chapter.
