Pledging Omega Phi Alpha

What is Omega Phi Alpha Exactly?

Omega Phi Alpha is a national service sorority that is based on three cardinal principles of friendship, leadership, and service. The service aspect of our sorority is what sets us apart from other campus sororities. We want to make friends, develop leadership, and have fun, but we also dedicate a good deal of our time to helping other people. The active chapter has a meeting once a week to set up service projects and social functions. The pledge class has meeting once a week decided on by the pledge class as a whole to set up service projects and complete pledge materials.

What is pledging?

Pledging is your way of showing commitment to the sorority - Before you are activated. During your pledge period, you are expected to learn about Omega Phi Alpha and to demonstrate knowledge in a series of short, weekly quizzes.  We also expect you to learn to work together with your fellow pledges to plan and implement service projects of your own. Along the way, you will meet and interview all of the active sisters, so that you will get a chance to know them all. Finally, your paperwork will be turned in to the national membership director who supervises pledging and you will be requested to attend an activation ceremony.  Only after activation are you considered an active member of Omega Phi Alpha
