My dad kept his promise and I was the proud owner of the '86 5.0 at the age of 17. I had my fun with it, did a few modifications here and there. I didn't have the best of luck with it, and after three accidents and a stolen hood, (yes that's right, I put a Cervini's 2 1/2" cowl induction hood on it and someone stole it!) I gave up.
It was then that I bought my 2000 V6. I originally wanted a new GT but my insurance company thought otherwise. So I settled with the V6. I didn't really plan on doing any modifications to it, instead just drive it as is until I could afford the insurance on a GT or Cobra. But I soon found that there was a decent aftermarket for the newer V6s. And one mod led to another. And that's where I'm at now. I haven't done many performance mods to it, and don't really plan on it. Who knows....maybe someday I will drop a V8 into it?
