The lights of stars that were extinguished ages ago still reaches us. So it is with great men who died centuries ago, but still reach us with the radiations of their personalities.
-Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931)

Music of the Mind

Turn on the blessed sounds that entrance
Whether it be by chance, or within the
Complexities of the absurdities in music,
Music of the mind; Agreeable in ways to
Enhance the pleasure without forcing a
Desperate measure to free myself from the
Animosity of my daily, dateless drills.
The sounds of science and the vibrations,
Lyrical translations into blissful beauty
That only sounds of your acoustic guitar,
And the brackish melodies from a rock star
Could ever dream of emitting.

Worldly cultures are brought together,
Through ripping chords and colors gone
Crazy when the ragtime measures slam
Dance past the classical cadences, while
The sultans of swing and soul break down the
Bebop; Heavy metal hymnals harass the popular
Poetry and prose of the modern-day singers,
Strange and lovely (among others) for the
Crowd that moves their feet to an alternative
Beat, there is no better method, no finer
Approach to unleashing your emotions than
Through tones and sounds of either kind,
Whatever brings out that music of the mind.
