Summer Break Vacation in Art
Location: 4101 Rawley Pike, Harrisonburg
(old Dale Enterprise School Building)
A four day long class featuring dance, music, art and theater.
June 23-27, 2003 9:00am-3:00pm for kids 5 to 14.
(Half day program available for younger children)
Open Studio takes a unique approach to teaching children the techniques needed for the visual and performing arts, plus the creativity and social skills to generate original works of art with other children. Participants of all ages will be together for warm-up exercises and sharing the results of their work. Small groups will be formed around common ideas, age level, or other organizing factors. Participants are encouraged in a distintive process in which they are responsible for generating ideas and ways to implement them. Each group will create a signature "performance art" piece that they will present to each
other and family members at the end of the session.
