People  of Oldtown
Through the decades, many people and families have made their mark in Oldtown. From the Shawnee, to the coming of the white man, Oldtown has stood the test of time. Although now it seems as though  it's becoming much of a ghost town, with the school taken away from us, businesses going by the wayside, it's people  are determined to keep it alive.

Owen Ashford Slider,  born 1873,  was a handsome man in 1900, His Grandfather, Joseph Slider, was one of the first white men  in Allegany County, settling on top of Green Ridge. Owen lived alone  in his Grandfather's log house atop the Ridge until he was no longer able to care for himself. He died in 1955 in the Allegany Infirmery. He was my Grandfather, Frederick Auburn Slider, and Mary Ann Slider Brinkman's brother.
