Other Works #2
Romeo and Juliet was one of Shakespeares early works, probably written in 1594-1595. During the 20th century put this play down compared to his other great tragedies such as; Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, and Othello. It lacks depth and complexity as his later tragedies. Viewed from a fresh perspective the drama between the young lovers is seen as really awesome work. Aspects of the play that are focused on is the antithesis between love and hate, the handling of time, fortune and dreams and omens.(http://www.allshakespeare.com/romeo.php)
