Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients Instructions
Normal recipe found on package:
1 tsp vanilla and/or maple flavor
1 tsp water
1 lb butter
3/4 Cup Dark brown sugar (not dry)
3/4 Cup Granulated sugar
2 1/4 Cup all purpuse flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 pkg chocolate chips (6 oz)
1 pkg instant oatmeal (use pkg oatmeal with maple flaoring)
I usually double this recipe.
Use an electric mixer to mix butter with sugar and flavorng and water.
Use a large spoon to fold in mixed dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt).
Fold in oatmeal and chocolate chips last.
Use two teaspoons to put dough onto greased cookie sheets (drop cookies).
The key to this recipe is to make sure your brown sugar is not dried out. If it is, add a tsp of water. The maple flavoring will bring out the intensity of the chocolate. The dough should hold its shape, but bake into a round circle. I describe the dough as being "fluffy."
The temperature for crispy cookies should be at 375 degrees for about 14 minutes. The edges should show browning. For normal cookies, you can drop the temperature to 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes, depending on your oven.  Once you have a sucessful batch made, write down the timing and temperature of your oven.
Remove the cookies almost immediately after removing the tray from the oven. If they cool on the tray, they will be difficult to remove.
