A scientist with a brilliant intellect, Perceptor is head of the Autobot's research efforts. Always yearning to discover the full extent of available information, he takes all possible measures to attain this goal. Knowledge is the greatest asset available and is to be pursued diligently, according Perceptor's ethic.
Although he values knowlegde above physical force, Perceptor is still a formidable warrior. As a Field Commander on Cybertron, he was looked upon to make important decisions for the benefit of the group. He would rather spend his time in a laboratory, but he has no qualms about using his concussion rifle to lead a group of Autbots in permanently deactivating a few Decepticons.
Perceptor has become comfortable being around humans since his initial arrival on Earth shortly after the revival of the Ark in 1984. His studies of their behaviors and how the Autobots can interact with them have made him more charismatic than in his days on Cybertron. His original mission set forth by Optimus Prime was to observe the environment and discern better ways for the Autobots to continue their acclimation to the new world. His extended stays upon both Earth and Cybertron have lead him to treat both planets as his home, and he feels equally comfortable stationed at either. The recent events on Cybertron have led him to reestablish his base of operations on Earth.
