The credit for the existence of this site must, without a doubt, go to a bunch of ladies that like to call themselves "Doggoddesses" and frequent a pretty seedy place (no offense, girls!) called The Medusa Lounge, an ongoing and, by now, record-breaking thread in the Forum at xfiles.about.com that became a place for X Files fans to talk about their favorite character and actor, John Doggett aka Robert Patrick. While usual threads make it to 50 or maybe 100 posts in half a year or so (if at all), The Medusa Lounge crossed the 1,000 mark (!) after just a few weeks. Impressive.
I came across that just a short time ago and asked myself: There's an ongoing discussion about Doggett called The Medusa Lounge, an ongoing discussion about Mulder called the Fox's Den- so why is there no thread about Scully? Now, Scully being my decided favorite character on The X Files, me being an absolute admirer of Gillian Anderson's talent (I personally think she's the most gifted actress to grace any screen, big or small), and yes, I will also admit to an act of plagiarism- I started The Milagro Temple, an ongoing thread for the forum's Scullyists. And I'm proud to say that, within two weeks since its inauguration, the Temple has exceeded 300 posts and will hopefully continue to grow. There'll be more discussions about the show, Gillian's role in it, pic exchanges and, I'd say, almost virtual reality mood pieces by our most gifted resident fan fic writer, Entil'zha.
So now, to finally give the Temple its own space on the web, with far more room to place the images (or should I say icons) of our revered Dana Scully/Gillian Anderson, this site is the spin-off (one might say) to the about-forum's Milagro Temple, that I hereby encourage you all to visit sometime.
