Applicants must submit a resume detailing their academic record, any community service and special interests as well as an essay and three letters of recommendation. Since 1995, OSC has awarded more than 55 scholarships totaling over $30,000. Charity Stone, Scholarship Committee Chairperson, encourages students to send in their applications as soon as possible. “We are offering graduating seniors and continuing ed students an incredible opportunity by making these funds available to them. We look forward to awarding this gift of education.” The deadline for the application is APRIL 15, 2007. Candidates may be a dependent spouse or a dependent child of a Military Sponsor whose residence at the time of the application is within the Yuma, Arizona area. The Military Sponsor must fall into one of the following categories: a. Officer or enlisted military personnel on active duty or attached to MCAS Yuma. b. Officer or enlisted military personnel who has retired after twenty or more years of active duty. c. Officer or enlisted military personnel who has separated from military service due to disability. d. Officer or enlisted military personnel who died while on active duty. e. Officer or enlisted military personnel who died after retirement from the military as stated in 'a' or 'b' above. f. Officer or enlisted military personnel whose dependents reside in the area while the sponsor is on an unaccompanied tour or who remain to complete the school year after the transfer of the sponsor. The Officers’ Spouses’ Club (OSC) is a non-profit club. We are an organization comprised of women and men, spouses of active duty and retired officers as well as the spouses of reserve, serving overseas, widowed, POWs and MIA officers residing in the Yuma area. OSC raises funds for the further advancement of activities benefiting all military personnel and dependents including educational scholarships, holiday food baskets and other community projects. Who we are: The Officers’ Spouses’ Club (OSC) is a non-profit club. We are an organization comprised of women and men, spouses of active duty and retired officers as well as the spouses of reserve, serving overseas, widowed, POWs and MIA officers residing in the Yuma area. Our Purpose: Officers' Spouses’ Club purpose is to promote good will, friendship, and cultural opportunity among families of officers stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. In addition, we raise funds for the further advancement of activities benefiting ALL military personnel and dependents including Educational Scholarships, Holiday Baskets, charitable, and other community projects. Since 1995, OSC has awarded more than 55 scholarships totaling over $30,000. OSC has awarded scholarships to military spouses and children; who were seeking help and attending college.
