.This is the old JLTC site. 30 years ago this was the arguably best site at all of Onteora. Sadly all that remains is what is left of the latrine and washstand. The one lean-to still stands but it has deteriorated. Most of the campsite has grown over with at least a heavy covering of ferns. The original JLTC program shelter across the road still stands |
Troop 45 from Mineola outside of their Cochise campsite. Troop 45 has a strong tradition at Onteora. They always seemed to camp there the same two weeks that I did when I was a scout. | |

The water tower at the top of the power line trail still supplies water to the entire camp. I have no idea how old this tower is. |
