Hello All,

Wow, What a week this has been. I am worn out, but I have to start studying now since our next set of exams is only two weeks away. This past Wednesday was the midpoint of the semester. With how fast school is going I feel like these first two heinous years will be over in no time at all.

This week, Nola and I have both been experiencing one of the job hazards of being a teacher (or married to one) the common cold. In addition, we had been learning our lines for our Adventist Heritage play (which went very well, see photograph below). We performed the play to commemorate the 156th anniversary of the great dissapointment. I had also agreed to take the lesson for our young adult Sabbath School class and so I set aside time to prepare for that. Then, Nola and I were asked to make a tape of each part of the Old Advent song "The Trumpet in the Morning". I love the song, so I said I would make the tape and volunteered Nola to play. What I didn't know was they were planning to distribute the tapes to about 20 men so they could learn it and sing this weekend. Since I knew the song, they assumed I would sing. It was a very full week and weekend, I think I got a little bit of studying in, but I don't remember what it consisted of.

Therefore, today is a serious study day. I spent Saturday night with Mr. Netter's wonderful atlas of the human body and today I am going to go see if any of it applies to our cadavers in the gross lab. We have been doing a dissection of the abdomen and pelvis. I don't think GYN surgery is my calling. The internal structures in that region have been particularly difficult for me to identify. Then again, maybe my mind was just clouded with illness and old Advent hymns.

I hope that you have a great week! Write us and let us know how life is treating you.

Take care, Brent Reading
