Hello All,

Happy New Year!

Second semester has begun and it promises to be more challenging than the first semester.   I still don't have my final grades.   We have a group of students that we elected to fight for more points on our exams and they have yet to meet with the professors regarding our last set of exams.   However, I am optimistic.

I have introduced some new residents into the cichlid tank.   (See below.)   For those of you who are purists you will be dissapointed to see that I have mixed species from Lakes Tanganyika and Malawi.   We just picked out fish that were interesting or pretty.   I was assured at the time that they would be compatible, but further research has proven that the chances of all of the fish surviving through this school semester are even lower than the chances of my maintaining a 4.0.   I am debating whether I should make some returns or hope for the best.   I am not optimistic.

Nola managed to extend her break an extra day by feigning the flu.   She is better now and we went to the school today so she could prepare for next week and I could play some basketball with some of the guys from the local church.   We then returned home to waste the day watching our two favorite football teams get creamed (it is just the beginning of the semester so I don't have to start studying yet.)

I hope your holidays were enjoyable.   Write us and let us know how things are going.

Take care, Brent Reading
