Week of October 21, 2001

Hello all,

We just got back from a camping trip to Heber Springs, Arkansas.   It was a gorgeous weekend for camping and the mountains there reminded me of Eastern Tennessee.   Despite the fact that I had to take a test and write up a paper on a patient I interviewed last week, I decided to stay in the mountains on Sunday to do some rock climbing.   Even though I am feeling a bit sleep deprived today I don't regret it.   We did some rapelling and I set up an easier climb so that Nola and a couple of the guys from our church could learn to climb.   Nola red lined the climb, which if I remember correctly means she climbed it the first time with no falls, pretty strong work.   Unfortunately we ran out of time for snorkeling.

The fire hoses were back on full force at UT today.   But, I don't think I retained much more than a drop of information.   I had to take notes today for one of the classes; it was a lecture on lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, and Sjogren's syndrome.   They are due tomorrow so wish me luck.

I hope all is well on your end, let us know.   Have a great week,

Brenton Reading
