Week of August 17, 2003

Hello all,

It has been several months since the last report and there is much to tell.

As I wrote in my last Reading Report several months ago I thoroughly enjoyed my radiology rotation and in fact as you might surmise from the new graphic at the top, I am starting myself down the road of becoming a radiologist.   What happened to orthopaedics, you might wonder?   Well, I hope it is God leading me where He wants me to go.   Radiology just seemed to be a better fit for me than ortho.   I appreciate the more layed back atmosphere, the interface of science and technology, the intellectual challenge, and the ability to have as much or as little patient contact as you want in radiology.   My ERAS application to the different programs goes out at the end of this month.   If you are interested in reading my personal statement send me an e-mail and let me know.   I would appreciate all the feedback I can get on it!

Nola started back to school this Monday.   Right now she has 14 kindergartners with a possibility of 2 more!   She will need a lot of prayers!

I am a fourth year medical student now!   I am currently finishing up family medicine in Jackson, TN. But, today we are having a series of lectures by my fellow medical students.   I did mine last week on knee and ankle trauma and the Ottawa Knee and Ankle Rules.

Have a great week and God bless,

Brenton Reading
