Game Summary
Lowell - The Cubs ended the season on a fun note
even though they lost to the Dodgers 12-6.
Both teams enjoyed the nice day. The highlights of the day for the Cubs were a stand out performance by Oscar Colvin and the return to the mound by Jack Sayers. Colvin had three hits in the day including a double and two RBIs. Sayers, pitching competitively for the first time in almost four years threw two innings. Sayers gave up two runs, except his left fielder misplayed a ball into a triple that led to the two runs. Also contributing was Jerry Kohl with three hits and Randy Ochab and Marvin Ritchie with two hits a piece. Jack Muse entertained the crowd with a scoreless inning of pitching and Duffy Thomas walked in his first career at bat left handed. Thanks to everyone for a good year and a special thanks to the families that allow us to play in Sunday mornings and provide the best support of any team in the league. |
