Game Summary Wsetford - The Cubs were fit to be tied with a come-from-behind 14-14 tie versus the Orioles. Marvin Ritchie was the star hitter of the day going 3 for 3 with 5 RBI. the big hit was a bases-loaded, two-out, bottom of the ninth double to drive in three and tie the score. The Orioles jumped out to a 8-4 lead in the fourth as they scored seven runs. The outburst thankfully ended as Frank Cossette made a nice running catch of a line drive behind the bag at second. The Cubs had scored their first four runs on a two-run single by Tom Knox in the first and a sac fly by Ritchie and RBI single by Trafton in the third. Three more runs by the Orioles in the fifth made it 11-4. But the Cubs bounced back for two in the fifth on RBI single by Randy Boucher and Ritchie and two more in the sixth on a two-run double by Scott Van Winkle. After two Oriole runs in the seventh, the Cubs came back to 13-9 as DJ Shaughnessy scored on a passed ball. The Orioles scored their final run in the eighth on a infield error. The Cubs got two back on an RBI single by Knox and Van Winkle. After holding the Orioles scoreless in the ninth, the dramatics were set-up for Ritchie as Shaughnessy, Cossette and Mark Hamel reached base. Ritchie chased them all home on a deep drive to left center. Duffy Thomas's second hit was his 100th OTB career hit. The Cubs take on the Braves next Sunday at Dracut High School.
