Valerie was two years old
when I was told
that she was going to die
I really hoped it was a lie
One day she was happy and the next she's ill
My parents worried over the bill
All the Doc said was "she's got the flu
and for the next few days she'll feel real blue."
But then one night she got real sick.
Now on her birthday we light a wick
in her honor and memory.
Every time I think of her, I fill with glee.
I know she's in heaven watching over me.
It's real sad to loose her, I know.
and sometimes it's good to let the tears flow,
but she's in heaven, waiting for me.
and one day I'll go, and her I will see.
Logan and ValerieFrom Logan age 11:
I rearranged my heart last night,
to make more room for your depart.
I looked and looked for you in the sky,
but all I got was the sun in my eye.
Now it's time to say our goodbyes.
I'll always remember those big blue eyes,
and that tooth of yours too.
