There's a special place in the southwestern corner of North Carolina. Where forested mountains seem to touch the sky. Where the lakes sparkle and the air is crisp and clean. Where you can still find the charm of small-town America and the heritage of our past. It's a special place called Murphy, North Carolina.
If you are looking for the rest, peace of mind, and a renewed spirit, come on up to Our Cabin in the Woods and "visit a spell." It is the place to stay while you explore Western North Carolina. When your stay is over, we think you will agree that God's country is hard to leave.
"Our Cabin in the Woods" sits on 2.5 acres atop a hill, looking down at the winding roadway. The woods are made up of mostly oak trees with a mixture of other hardwoods and some pine trees. The woods provide a cozy and serene atmosphere with lots of shade, birds and wildlife. Our Cabin is a great place to relax and enjoy nature.
Put on your warm, fuzzy slippers and your "flannels," wrap up in a nice warm throw and sit by the fire, or just sit back and rock. Whichever you prefer, I'm sure you will be totally relaxed. The roll-top desk is set up with a computer data port for your laptop. The hanging "Moose" quilt was hand made by "Jayne." The entertainment center houses a stereo television/VCR, Direct TV satellite receiver and stereo radio/cassette/CD player.
Our kitchen is complete with all modern appliances, including an over the range microwave and a built in dishwasher. The cupboards contain all the necessary cookware and utensils to prepare a lavish meal or just "good country cookin." Enjoy your meal seated around the oak dining table, and later sit and play cards or board games.
Sit down by the fire, read a good book, or watch TV. I'm sure you will enjoy the comfort of our living room, lying on the sofa, sitting in the over stuffed chair or rocking in the old fashion rocker.
The downstairs bedroom is furnished in oak, mission style furniture. The queen size bed is covered with a lovely sunburst design quilt. A double wedding ring quilt hangs on the quilt stand which can be used for those chilly nights.
The upstairs bedroom is decorated in a "bird house & sunflower" theme. The pale goldenrod walls provide a lovely accent to the green plaid wallpaper & "bird house" border. The sleigh bed is covered with a beautiful leaf design quilt. A second quilt also hangs on a quilt stand for those extra chilly nights.

wallpaper & the upstairs (left) is
decorated in an ivy pattern. Both
bathrooms have a shower/tub
combination. Both have a plentiful
supply of "soft" towels.
