WELCOME....

On September 28, 2003, we picked up our 3 PMU foals from Spring Hill Horse Rescue in Brandon,VT. To read more about SHHR and about the PMU foals please visit
Spring Hill's web site!   SpringHill Horse Rescue is now located in Clarendon, VT. Our 3 girls (Tierra, Jubilee and Koko)  settled in well.  We are proud that we were able to save these foals,  we gentled these babies and got all three are started undersaddle!  In 2006 we made the  painful decision to rehome Koko and Jubilee  because of unexpected lifestyle changes. Although  we will miss them their new home will have more time to further their training (they have been rehomed together).  We will be keeping Tierra.  We rescue and rehab (privately) horses from time to time (as space and time allow). Our horse family also includes LadyBug a 13H  bay morganX mare previously foundered but now 100% sound. (for several yrs) She is about 13 years old, we have  had her since 2002.  We also have Apollo a 12 yr old, 14.3  light bay quarterhorse that we Adopted Nov 04. He had a few issues but is now a great trail horse.  We adopted Spirit an adorable 14 yr old(or older) brown and white paint  12.3 pony  spring  2005 and she has recovered from founder and is feeling much better as her feet are growing out normally. We also have Smokey a little silver dapple  9.2H  4 yr old miniature/pony  gelding.  Our 2 yr old grandson is having a ball riding him. They are a perfect match. I was a bit worried that the young pony would be too much for the young grandson but much to my delight and surprise they are a perfect match, the pony so gentle with the small child. Smokey is also a "father figure" to our two pony foals (Tanner and Penny) this year(see below).   We built a brand new 6 stall barn for the horses right after the  pmu foals arrived and usually it's pretty full.   The barn is very comfortable with 11x12  stalls. We have a 7th stall now, mini sized!  All stalls have heated water buckets in the winter and rubber mats in the stalls and aisleway Stalls are run-in and open into large paddocks which in turn open into pastures for a natural environment. Horses are only "shut in" during major storms or extremely cold weather. We have lights in each stall and aisleway and we have a tackroom with running water.  Upstairs is a hay storage area  on one side and on the other side  a game room with pool table, excercise equipment etc.  We are located in Cambridge,VT.

PATTY & ELIZA

News: We've had 2007 foals. Last Year we "rescued" a little  13H arab/shetland stallion we owned years ago. Well this little bugger at age 15 was a little wilder than at age 2. He thanked me by immediately jumping the fence (well breaking the fence) and stealing both my pony mares. Saw him breed them almost immediately and try as we may we could not seperate them without risking our other mares getting bred or him hurting himself trying to jump fences. (The little guy has since been rehomed and gelded.) Spirit's foal has arrived  early Feb 07  and he is a little doll, Seal brown with a couple of white socks and a cute white marking on his head that looks like a seahorse.. We've named him Tanner. Ladybug's Foal arrived early march 2007 and is a chestnut filly with a white rear sock and a head marking like a birthday candle. We've named her Penny. We will take responsibility for these foals and train both under saddle, Tanner also appears to be a prospect for driving. Grandkids will much enjoy them as we have. These are our first and possibly only foals.
