VOICE OF VENGEANCE BY GLEN "VOKILLS" REQUILMAN

Q) Hey man how’s it going? Any human sacrifices happening now?

Very busy these days man…all that stressful shit and work. But no problems… no sacrifices just alcohol/substance abuse and stuff…

Q) I’ve heard you have a solo material what its name and how does it sounds like?

Yeah! Stabwounds, lets just say… its fast heavy and very different from my previous bands like order in chaos, glitch etc… this project is still on the first stage of evolving man. Don’t know what would happen next.

Q) What do you think of Metal and new metal scene here in the Phil.?

Growing…getting strong…we just need to promote originals and more exposures for our scene. There are less exposed bands that have skills and potential and needs to be supported all over the Phil. Support and help and it’s all good man…

Q) Cool man ….I’ve seen a bits of Glitch and it also catchy one. and as a former oic how do you shift your music man? from melodic death metal to new metal.

Yes, order in chaos focused more on melodic, atmospheric and progressive metal. Without losing the essence of death metal for sure... I like experience man. Learning new ideas trying them out and ending up wanting for more… that may be the reason of my experimental and shifty ideas on being a musician. Shifting rhythms are I think, a part of a musicians way to evolve and create a new breed of sound that the musician would be proud of... progression of sound... sound architecture... and I know it will evolve and mature until the musician itself would end his madness and has satisfied his hunger... that’s what’s happening to me…

Q) Do you think there is a unity and brotherhood in Cebu helping each other out in gigs in stage and off the stage Community?

If you’re asking bout the metal scene… at my time in Cebu, yes for sure there is. We use to have these productions like Hybrid, Hellwidit, Moshpit and they’re all devoted in helping underground bands there. Sometimes, we encounter small problems like bands competing with each other and all that stupid things that a musician must not do. I think its just normal…shit happens… at least were still bounded by the scene and still support each other’s ass no matter what. And we all end up drinking, having a party, and getting wasted after the gig…one big crazy family…

Q) You guys are tight and brutal ever since I saw Order in Chaos Jam, do u still want to form the band again even though the original members is not the complete lineup?

I really missed oic so much man. We were very close like brothers, and shared almost everything about our lives ups and downs. The trials we encountered and faced. Our sacrifices and all… Jonah, Daniel, Zhydin, and all of the previous members of order, I totally thank you guys… for real! I hope someday maybe, I could do a project recording all the songs of order with old members and new lineups for remembering…

Q) What Stuff and the band are you listening to right now, metal and non-metal,
and also any bands and things that you hate as well and why?

Right now, I still listen to almost anything heavy and experimental... Glassjaw for example, catches my attention. Psycho riffs... many more bands catches my attention. basta anything surprising man. Bands I hate... I’ve been a critic when I was still in oic. But right now I’m learning to respect other peoples flavor... but I really hated some things though… I get so irritated by them.

Q) I noticed u have lots of tattoos. Do you have plans on adding more?

I already have 14 of them from the smallest to the biggest. Right now, I still don’t have plans on adding new ones. Just need some reattaches though… some of my skin got scraped off due to a freaky motorcycle accident. Needs attention and cover-ups. Lucky me, my brother’s a tattoo artist.

Q) I already know you dudes are big into porn , who are your fave pornstars
and flicks.?

All my ex girlfriends are my favorite! hehe… seriously… Aurora snow, Jenna haze, Silvia Saint, Janna… whew! Many others man cute, pretty, clean shaved and oh yeah… cum get some… next question please…

Q)You are a guitar player ever since so when do you learn how to play the turntables and sampler.? pretty much amazing

No, you got it wrong. I first learned to play turntables then the guitar. It was this neighborhood in Marikina when DJ’s are everywhere… I think it was on 1990 when I first saw someone doing scratches and remixes and all that sorts… as I can say, it caught my attention and started doing it at home…its easier to learn t-tables than guitars man. You could be a DJ in just 3 weeks practicing… guitars came next and it was the greatest challenge of all, and sampler came last… right now I use laptops for sampling and sound development because its much easier to use and much lighter for traveling in far place gigs.

Q) What are your favorite alcohol beverages? Do u have a favorite hung-out?

First choice, strong beer… Not so choosy in drinks though. Lets just say all of those beverages... right now I’m doing gin solo during the interview. Want some???
Hangouts… anyplace man with good music, cool friends to hang with and lots of beer!!! And don’t forget the ladies…

Q) how old are you when u picked up a guitar?

13, my first song was from the cure… with simple chords. I still remember Jonah introducing me to Metallica’s “kill em all” and Slayer’s “Seasons in the abyss” when we were still in 1st year summer class bullshit man and that started it all… never took my hand of the guitars again…

Q) What was your first Gig?

With oic, I think it was in 92 or 93, Noise Holocaust in Montalban. I still had gigs b4 that but it wasn’t with oic forgot the dates… order in chaos was my first band if I am to choose among all of them previous bands that I’ve been with.

Q) Are you doing any Studio work at this time?

Yes. Still working on new materials for my project “Stabwounds”. Plus other materials waiting to be recorded and mixed. Sometimes I don’t have the time to go out and chill because of this… I’m a zombie trapped inside a studio! What the fuck is wrong with me…

Q) If there were anything you could say to those doubting the stabwounds solo material what would it be?

Got some beer? Show me what you got? or Sensei…teach me your Kung fu…

Q) Do u still have a plan to form a band or just continue your solo material?

Still planning... it’s not really for my own interest this solo thing. I like doing this music making so much that I cant waste any time just lying getting crazy around messing up my life... I still have plans forming a group. Top priority are my brothers and former band mates... you can play the drums if you like... I heard your demo your feet caught my attention. I will make fast materials for your own pleasure...

Q) Before we end this session any last words to say for those who want to find their music and for our metal brothers who are still bugout in their music career….love ones and friends …

Yes indeed there is.... to all of you metal heads and starting bands out there, I was once like you. Banda umiiral sa utak ko. That’s normal. Daming criticisms dameng pagalingan and dameng nagpapaliit sa inyo. I’ve ended up being what I am right now because I never listened to any of those people na sumisira sakin. Kung gusto nyo may marating kayo, never, never, never react to any judgments. Just be proud of what you have succeeded and created. Practice more no matter what. And just love what you are doing... music is not image and popularity... its what you are and what you wanted.... Just get out of there and show them what you got!
