Also known as Stormbird or Rainbird. The Channel-billed Cuckoo is about 60cm long. It has long curved bill and distinctive patch of bare red skin around the eye. Found in open forest, woodland. Its loud call is often heard at night. It feeds on fruit, but will raid other birds nests. This one has an egg (looks like a pigeon egg) in its beak. Check the enlargement and you will see the egg. Pheasant Coucal  (Centropus phasianinus)   Play Audio Clip
Also known as the Swamp Pheasant. The Pheasant Coucal is a fairly large bird growing to 65cm long. It is found in dense growth in woodland, along roadsides and occasionally in gardens.
