  • Discussed optional sites for next year in case of rain: Pecan Grove Park, FUMC
  • Some concern expressed by families about ties and having enough awards for everyone
  • Suggestion to move Tigers to the beginning of the event
  • Suggestion to buy more gutters and run more races at the same time
  • Agreed to reinforce rules next year especially not pushing the boats with hands

  • Merging three dens into two dens (Den 5, Den 15)
Fall Campout (Sara McAllister)
  • Suggestion to make a "plaster" of animal tracks in the park (need a piece of cardboard to carry it out)
  • Tom to post a map of the camping area on the web site
  • Park pass available from Boy Scout Troop 1656
  • Cub scout families can set up tents beginning at 2 PM
  • each den will coordinate its own dinner and breakfast food
  • Pack will provide drinks, 'Smores and campground fee
  • Cub scout families will $5 per family for the event plus the gate fee to enter the park
  • Vince to coordinate pack campfire
Popcorn Sales (Vince)
  • Sales good so far
  • Final turn-in date is Oct 30
T-Shirts (Chuck Littlepage)
  • Sold 123 T-shirts
  • Order will be submitted Oct 10
Pack Service Projects (Roland)
  • Christmas project:

  • Worked with the Tate Center last year
  • Kent McAllister to coordinate with FUMC for this year's event
Pinewood Derby (Tom Cox)
  • All equipment and software ordered
  • Electronic timer and software already received
  • Track delivery expected before the end of October
  • Refund/discount of $42 for 10% summer discount
  • Testing of new equipment includes a preliminary test in a home, then some kind of "invitational" race where cub scouts can bring their old derby cars to race, probably in December
  • Recommendation to find an air conditioned room to store the new track
Pack Web Site (Tom Cox)
  • All information for the new scout year has been added to the pack web site and the calendar
  • Each den has their own web page and is encouraged to save their own information
  • Tom to provide instructions to Den Leaders on how to update the calendar
Training (Janet Wamsley)
  • Need den leaders to take BALOO training so that our pack is covered for all campouts
  • Pack 1680 has no one "BALOO certified"
  • "Guide to Safe Scouting" recommended reading for all den leaders
  • Sara to check with Tomahawk District on options available to us as our campout event is less than two weeks away
  • Vince to confer with a BALOO trainer
